Our Story

Posterities was founded in 2016 by Emmanuel Kwame, a financial analyst who returned to Ghana after working in international banking for over a decade. During his time abroad, Emmanuel recognized that many Ghanaians lacked access to quality financial education, particularly in the area of investments.

What began as informal investment workshops for friends and family quickly grew into a structured educational program. In 2017, Emmanuel partnered with Abena Osei, a local economics professor, to develop a curriculum specifically designed for the Ghanaian context, taking into account the unique challenges and opportunities in our financial landscape.

The turning point came in 2018 when Posterities received grant funding to develop their innovative investment simulation platform. This technology allowed participants to gain practical experience without risking their savings, addressing one of the major barriers to investment education in Ghana.

Since then, Posterities has trained over 3,500 Ghanaians across five regions, helping to create a new generation of informed investors. Our goal remains the same as when we started: to democratize financial knowledge and empower everyday Ghanaians to build wealth through smart, informed investing.

Emmanuel Kwame

Founder & Lead Educator

Emmanuel brings over 15 years of experience in international banking and investment analysis. After graduating from the University of Ghana and earning his MBA from London Business School, he worked with leading financial institutions in the UK and South Africa before returning home to launch Posterities.

His passion lies in translating complex financial concepts into accessible lessons for everyday Ghanaians.

Abena Osei, PhD

Curriculum Director

With a doctorate in Economics from the University of Cape Town and 12 years as a professor at Kwame Nkrumah University, Abena brings academic rigor to our programs. She specializes in developing economies and has published extensively on financial inclusion in West Africa.

At Posterities, she ensures our curriculum remains evidence-based, practical, and tailored to Ghana's unique economic environment.

Kofi Mensah

Technology Director

Kofi leads the development of our award-winning investment simulation platform. After completing his Computer Science degree at Ashesi University, he worked with several fintech startups before joining Posterities in 2018.

His expertise in creating intuitive, educational technology has been instrumental in helping our participants bridge the gap between theory and practice in a risk-free environment.

Fatima Yakubu

Community Outreach Manager

Born and raised in Northern Ghana, Fatima brings valuable perspective on the financial education needs of underserved communities. With a background in community development and a degree in Finance from the University for Development Studies, she leads our efforts to expand access to investment education beyond urban centers.

Her initiatives have brought Posterities programs to rural areas across Ghana, with a special focus on women's financial empowerment.
